Curtains-up on our primary partnership with Sheffield Theatres

We are excited to announce the start of our Sheffield Theatres Primary Partnership Project, a trust-wide initiative that places the arts and storytelling at the heart of our primary curriculum.

Through this innovative partnership with Sheffield Theatres, we aim to enhance drama and storytelling in our schools, equipping teachers with the skills to inspire and engage pupils creatively.

This week, our journey began with professional development sessions for primary teachers across the trust. Early Years teachers explored the much-loved text Squash and a Squeeze through drama, while Key Stage 1 teachers used drama to bring the Great Fire of London to life. Key Stage 2 teachers also had the opportunity to delve into creative methods for teaching Romans and World War II.

Over the coming weeks and months, the programme will continue across the year, enhancing drama and storytelling skills amongst teachers and pupils at our primary schools through a series of professional development sessions and immersive workshops, facilitated by Sheffield Theatres.

We are incredibly proud to be investing in the development of our teachers and enriching the education of our pupils through the arts. This is just the start, and we look forward to sharing more updates as the project unfolds.
